This post will show you that Modcloth  Remains As One of the Best Clothing Stores for Plussize Fashion!

As I was writing my post on holiday clothing, I became entranced by a couple of items at Modcloth and had to order them for myself:

Fascinating Curation Earrings

modclothearringsWhen I saw these, I knew that I had to have them.

As a large woman, I don’t favor the tiny earrings.

I was worried that they would turn out to be small, however they weren’t ; they are exactly as pictured.

These are $12.99.

Here they are on me:

Here is the 2nd thing I bought:

The Leisure Is Mine Athletic Pants in Cropped

As shown on the site:

As shown on me:

These leggings fit like a dream.

The largest size is an XL, so I was more than a little apprehensive. (I wear between an 18-20/22, depending on the store.)

However, no worries. Still works for me.

Actually, as I look at this picture,I probably could have used one size up (lol), however, I’m still very happy with this purchase and for the 1st time in a long time, I can wear my shirt inside my pants.

These cost $39.99.

They are also available in the long leggings (as opposed to the cropped size that I ordered.)

So, now it just comes down to customer service and shipping.

I ordered and I received my box in just a few days. Everything was in perfect condition and wrapped up nicely in plastic and it was in the cutest box ever.

IMG_1493-2The box has a very vintage feel. On the outside of the box it says ‘ The Moment You’ve Been Waiting For….

On the inside: “Adorable”, “Gorgeous” , “Fantastic, “Fabulous”

I’ve got to keep this box just because it is so friggin’ cute!

So, that’s it for now! Just wanted to give you an update.

Happy Shopping!

The Blogger I’d Most Want to Be a Friend of Mine

I have spent so much time for the last 2 days reading the site, I WILL NOT WRAP MYSELF IN SMOCKS AND APOLOGIES by

On Daisy’s About Me page on her blog, she says that she loves music and books and she’s passionate about body confidence and size acceptance.  She’s referred to herself as ‘Nerdy, dirty, inked and curvy.’ I love that!

Swimsuits For All: Review On My New Swimming Suit

I love Swimsuits for All. Their Plus Size swimsuits are Quality at Its Best, Great Fashion, and Wonderful Comfort.

This is the Swimsuit I bought from Swimsuits For All and I am in love with it.  It is definitely too small in the bust, however I refuse to send it back. I WILL make this swimsuit work.

The sizing error was my fault and not theirs.

I love the black and white, love the side piping and I WILL LOSE THE WEIGHT TO BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY LOOK GOOD IN IT.

Xtra Life® Lycra® Aquabelle Black Zip Front Plus Size Swimsuit

Here’s the suit on the Swimsuit For All site:

Xtra Life® Lycra® Aquabelle Black Zip Front Plus Size Swimsuit
Xtra Life® Lycra® Aquabelle Black Zip Front Plus Size Swimsuit

Here’s me in one size too small (size 22). I really worried about it being too big, but I HAD TO GET this swimsuit and I was so afraid that they would run out. I actually thought that maybe I should get a size 20, since I usually wear between a 20-22.

(I’m sorry about the lettering; that is not part of the suit; just my site logo,)

Here’s the Description:

Created with Aquabelle’s exclusive Aquatex nylon fabric made with Extra Life® Lycra®.  Aquatex swimsuits last 5-10 times longer in chlorinated environments.  Aquatex retains color and shape, and provides high UV protection. For more description, go HERE.

Since a Size 22W  usually is a little bit big on me,  all I can say is that this suit probably runs a little small, especially in the bust.

I am absolutely NOT sending it back. This is my favorite swimsuit ever!

This sells for $42.00 (down from $56.00.)

Check out their collection! You’re going to love it!

LIMITED TIME ONLY:  25-50% OFF sitewide; Expires 4/22; Exclusions Apply.

BreastNest Is The New ‘Must-Have” Cami for Women With Large Breasts

BreastNest May Just Become Your Breasts’ New Best Friend.

Okay, ladies, let’s be honest. If you, like me, are big breasted, you already know that we’ve been relegated to the “ugly stepsister” status of lingerie. There’s just not a lot of lingerie for us that doesn’t look matronly; We seem to be stuck in the land of “heavy-duty industrial cotton with the underwire digging into us.”  Not to mention the lengthy time  it takes in fastening 5 hooks in the back.

Well, my friends, look no further. We now have our very own beautiful, slip-on cami (or bra-alternative ) that gives you the feeling of a non-costrictive tank top: The BreastNest.

So what is BreastNest?  This may just be the best item to come out for big-breasted women since the Enell bra. It’s a wonderful camisole for that in-between time when you don’t feel like wearing a bra, yet desire a little bit of a support. If you’re large breasted, you probably know that those “comfy bras” they advertise on TV and carry at Walgreens are definitely not meant for us. They have proven to be disappointing at best.

When I was contacted by Susan, the founder and designer of BreastNest, to do a review, I was somewhat apprehensive simply because these “comfy-bras” never fit my 42DDs.  However, when she mentioned that the sizes went from Cup D to H, I was on board.

Since I work at home, I can pretty much go braless. However, I know that this laziness on my part is  not doing my breasts any favor.

According to Susan,  “BreastNest may help promote healthier circulation with our special blend of materials that are stretchy and non-constrictive, and its unique design that helps keep pressure off our breasts, allowing for better circulation.”

The Modal/Span fabric, is what makes the feel of this camisole so luxurious and soft and the design is made so that you don’t get the dreaded mono-boob. It is also moisture-wicking for these hot days.

One woman said, Wearing this is like being hugged. I have never felt such gentle support for my chest. I can breathe. No adjusting. No pinching, no poking, no scratchy bits, no slippage, no bunching…I am happy with a more casual, gentle cradle – Breast Nest defies gravity just enough to give my chest and back the relief they need. Since I am a size DDD/F, that relief is greatly needed.
Thank you so much for making this product. Wearing it makes me feel so happy and peaceful.”

When I received the BreastNest in XL, I couldn’t believe how soft it was.

So, how does it feel on? Heavenly!

The fabric cups under the breast  reduce the irritation of skin on skin.

Right now, they only have it in black; I’d love to have a white one also. Actually, I want one in every color. Am I being too greedy?

I would feel very comfortable wearing it outside the house with a shirt thrown on top of it. I don’t think I would feel comfortable with wearing this on it’s own . These camisoles will not lift your breasts as a bra would; just a feeling of comfort with a little bit of support. I could definitely see wearing it under a shirt or pashmina.

This is an “in-betweener” for when you want something between wearing a bra and wearing no bra at all.

I think for the many women that are dealing with some of the chronic pain issues, this would be wonderful. There’s no snapping that needs to be done or adjusting and  no wires digging into your breasts. You just pull it over your head, like a t-shirt. (I would go up a size in that case.)

Finally, someone has taken the time to create something just for us, the women who wear between a Size D and H.

Alot of times the things that put an item “over the top” for me is when I am dealing with the owner or customer service people and it makes alot of difference to me as almost all my clothes and lingerie are done online.

Susan, the owner, is just a doll. She asked for an honest review and set no limits on what I would write.

Extra points to BreastNest for being eco-friendly and made in the USA. Check out her website, and read some of the great testimonials.

Free Shipping in the USA.

I think this is one purchase you’re going to love!

My Grade:  A

Disclosure:  I have received a sample of this product for review purposes. There has been no money exchanged and it is known that I will give an honest, un-biased review.

Why are people still so stupid? Referring To Someone as “The Chubby One” is Not Flattering and, quite frankly, mean.

I was in my usual large supermarket doing a shopping. I frequent this place  at least 4 times a week, since I tend to have no menu made out for the week and never know what I’ll feel like eating the next day.

You know how you tend to see the same people working at a place and, while you’re not necessarily on a first name basis, they’re the people you like and make small conversation with and who take your order and get your food from the butcher or the bakery or the deli.

So, I ran into a woman that worked in the meat department in the dairy aisle on her lunch break. She was buying Greek Yogurt.  She’s always been one of my favorites in the store. Since i just cannot abide Greek Yogurt, I asked her how she liked it and, while she admitted that she could get it down, she told me why she was eating yogurt for lunch.

Apparently, a male customer had placed a meat order and said he would be back to pick it up at the end of his shopping.  When he went back and the woman had been away from her station, he was explaining that he was looking for “THE CHUBBY WOMAN” who had originally taken his order.

She was devastated.

Because of one insensitive boor who had chosen to describe her by her weight, she was now on a new eating regime.

She said to me, “Why couldn’t he have described me by my smile (she has a beautiful smile) or by the fact that I’m really upbeat (which she is)?

But no. He chose to describe her as “the chubby one”.  I wonder if a woman would ever describe someone that way or are we more sensitive to such things?

You know, as angry as I felt toward this man, I was also just as angry at the co-worker that felt she/he had to let her know that someone had been looking for “the chubby one”.

So, was she chubby?  Actually, no.  Was she thin? No.  She was a normal looking (to me) real woman with hips and curves and a beautiful face.

I would guess her age to be about 25 years old and I knew that she would never get that thought out of her mind.  No matter how thin she gets or whether she gains weight, she will always think of the tool that referred to her as “the chubby one” and probably reasess her food choices for quite awhile.

What is wrong with people? Please. Think before you speak!

Have you ever had something similar to this and how did you handle it?
