Boscia: A Beauty Review

My Review of the Great Skincare Line Boscia

For a long time live been getting samples of the Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser from Sephora and I just threw them into the great pile of “to be eventually tried.”

I was intrigued when I heard that Boscia is one of the world’s first preservative-free, botanically based skin care lines so I dug it out and tried it.

I went with the Detoxifying Black Cleanser just because it sounded different.

Believe me when I say that the very next day I ordered the full size. I was that impressed.

You get 1.7 fl oz for $30.00.boscoa cleanser

True, not a lot of product for the price, but boy is it worth it.

Solutions for:
– Pores
– Dullness and uneven texture
– Oiliness

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

True, not a lot of product for the price, but boy is it worth it.

Out of 1969 reviews on Sephora, it received just over 4 out of 5 stars.

You pump it out and it comes out jet black and is just so nice and warm and comforting. It feels sooo good on your skin.

Believe me, I have tried many, many of the skin care lines and this is now my favorite.

After I received this, I tested it for about a week to make sure there were no breakouts There were none and my face looked really bright.

I then bought the Sake Balm Moisturizer.

Sake Balm Bounce Moisturizer to Hydrate and Brighten

sake balm

This jar contains 1.75 oz of product and sells for $46.00.

Solutions for:
– Dryness
– Dullness and uneven texture
– Loss of firmness and elasticity

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

This received 4 stars out of 177 reviews on Sephora.

It has a rather different consistency. It’s not quite a gel, yet it goes on like one. Usually, I don’t like gels, but this goes on very smoothly.

You only need to use very little of it.

These two products together just give my face so much brightening that I don’t even want to put makeup on over it.

I really think that you will love these. There are several products to this line and I intend to try as many as I can.

Next on my list is the cult-favorite Luminizing Black Mask:

An innovative peel-off mask that helps boost skin clarity and minimize the appearance of pores. Removes dirt and impurities, absorbs excess oil and reveals a healthy, glowing complexion. “Peel to reveal pore-perfected skin with the trendsetting Black Mask!”

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in Boscia.

My Review of Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish

Laura Mercier’s Flawless Skin is Another Product That Lives Up to the Hype

I bought this product after using a rather large sample. I definitely need to stop using those samples. This is getting ridiculously expensive!

The cleanser has just the tiniest fragments to exfoliate your skin.

My skin feels really clean and smooth and I don’t even want to put anything else on my skin afterwards.

Description at Sephora:  What it is:
A creamy cleansing face scrub.

What it does:
This effective scrub cleanses and exfoliates, removing dead skin cells to leave skin smooth and even-toned. Suitable for all skin types, Face Polish helps remove dead skin cells with purifying microbeads, while emollients soften the skin.

What else you need to know:
This product is dermatologist tested.

I was using it every night (stupid me) and I did start breaking out a little, so now I’m limiting myself to 2X a week even though I’m not certain it was due to the scrub. I was definitely being over-zealous however. Also. I’m sure it wasn’t good for my super-sensitive skin to use it every day.

My skin literally glows after using it.

I hate fragrance and the smell of the scrub is subtly fragrant; however I’m ok to put up with it for the results.

I love the tiny exfoliating beads and you really need very little to cover your whole face.

The price for 3.4 ozs is $32.00 at

I occasionally use my Clarisonic with it, however, again, it seems to be too abrasive.

I think, at least for me, there was a bit of a learning curve as to how many times a week I can use it (2X) and to be gentle with it because of my sensitive skin.

Would I buy it again? I definitely would!

On the website, it gets a strong 4.4 rating out of 5 from 103 reviews.

Well, I do think you’ll be happy with this even if you have sensitive skin.

Review of Skin Rescue Purifying Mask with Red Clay

Here is My Review on Skin Rescue purifying Mask With Red Clay

SRpurifyingmaskI received the Skin Rescue Purifying Mask with Red Clay as a sample from Sephora and decided to purchase it as the mask was really different from any I’ve used before.

I had a few issues with it, however,

I usually like clay masks to be thicker and easier on your skin. As you put this ‘gunky’ reddish mask on your face, you will be shocked as you will look like you have a 3rd degree burn. It’s not the easiest to apply.

The directions say to leave the mask on for about 20 minutes. It actually takes more time on me as it’s still wet after 20 minutes.

DescriptionThis mask treatment delivers immediately visible results akin to a professional treatment. In just 20 minutes the mask detoxifies and deeply purifies the complexion by drawing out skin impurities with a potent concentration of red clay. It regulates excess sebum, and eliminates clogged pores. In addition, mineral rich red clay reduces congestive pigmentation in problem areas where pimples previously formed and improves the skin’s texture. As the mask is peeled away, skin looks smoother, softer, and refreshed while pores appear visibly reduced.

I’ve tried to apply the Mask it with a small amount, a large amount, a medium amount and it just doesn’t seem to make a difference. You kind of have to fool around with it for a while to find what works best for you.

The problem that I have with this is when it comes time to peel it off. It’s really difficult. The easiest areas are the forehead and the cheeks. Good luck with the rest of your face.  You end up rinsing off any residue. I really feel like I’ve got to dig in with my fingers to get a start on peeling, which drives me crazy.

It’s difficult to describe the smell; sort of a medicinal, Icy Hot smell.

The Skin Rescue purifying Mask with Red Cay is an Allure Best of Beauty Award.

So, basically, I leave it on for 30 minutes, peel off what I can, rinse off the residue and …… OH MY GOSH…THIS IS THE BEST STUFF EVER!

I have extremely sensitive skin and this has caused me no problems at all.

Your skin just looks and feels clean and refreshed and you’re not going to even want to put moisturizer on your face afterwards.

Your skin will love you for this. My face is so soft after using this and it just feels like I’ve taken off about 5 years from my age.

So, would I recommend this? Yes! In a heartbeat.
