I Have Found that there are basically 5 annoying types of Women Working in Offices I feel qualified to do this because I have worked in more than 100 offices in my working career, either temporarily or permanently. I have worked in every type of working atmosphere from the richest offices, surrounded with marble and a having a private chef, to the non-profits where you have an antiquated phone to work with and you need to put a bucket next to your desk to catch the rain coming from a crumbling ceiling.
Yet, no matter where I work, there are always these 5 types of women:
1. THE CELEBRATOR Come on. You know her.
There is no holiday she doesn't love! Any excuse for a celebration!
THE TELL-TALE SIGN: She's the one that has the special sweater for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween and, of course the biggest celebration of all: Christmas. This holiday not only brings out the ugliest sweater known to mankind, but also her earrings are made of baby ornaments and her coat doesn't leave the house without the requisite $5.99 brooch of a wreath.
She does not understand anyone else not getting into the spirit with her and expects everyone to be excited to have to buy another useless gift for Secret Santa.
She also keeps track of everyone's birthdays and anniversaries and sends out the memo that you owe X amount of dollars each month toward another ice cream cake or bunch of flowers. She's truly annoying.
2. The Closet anti-semite, bigot, or homophobe This one is a little trickier.
This has happened to me more than once.
Tell-Tale Sign: None. Unfortunately, they can actually look quite normal.
There's a woman and you go out to eat with her, you visit her at her home, you've been to parties with her and, all of a sudden, something so vile comes out of her mouth that you know that you could never look at her the same again. You wonder how you never figured it out before.
But how to extricate yourself? That's the toughie. She's so stupid she can't figure out where it all went wrong and why you might find her suddenly so despicable.
You can't try to educate them because they've had too many years of hate instilled in them and besides all they'll do is be more careful when they're around you. I'd rather know a person right from the get-go anyway.
3. The "My Kids Are My Life " Women
Tell-Tale Sign:These are the women that come in each day with a whole slew of new pictures of their kids doing the most mudane things, yet you are held hostage and expected to oooooh and aaaahhhhh over every picture.
Plus, they're always hawking cookies or some other crap so their kid can go to camp. I mean, when did kids have to stop selling that stuff themselves? Probably when it became too dangerous to go to other people's doors....you know, those serial murderers, etc.
You really feel obliged to buy especially when you see everyone else has signed up for something. Basically, it's extortion, because they will make your life hell if you don't buy from them, especially if they are in a superior position.
4. The tattle-tale Boss' Pet Woman Life has probably not been very kind to this woman.
Tell-Tale Sign: The practical haircut and square heel shoes.
The only enjoyment she seems to get is through getting other people in trouble. She's always the boss' pet and thinks nothing of telling what a slob you are in the lunchroom or how you snuck in late.
She usually doesn't attend office parties because it's just too frivolous for her, plus nobody likes her.
5. The one-Upper
She's the one that always is one step ahead of you.
Tell-Tale Sign: Too many designer labels at one time.
You went to college? She's working on her PhD.
You just bought a new designer dress? She worked with the designer personally and visits her home regularly.
You do volunteer work? She helped build wells in 3rd world countries.
You have a cold? She had triple pneumonia.
You got a new puppy? She used to breed prize winning whippets.
You get the idea.
So, those are the ones that I have found make me the most crazy. I know there are others, like the Slacker, the Cry-Baby and the Office Gossip with all the wrong information, but the 5 above bug me the most.
So, before you call me a woman-hater (which I am NOT....I will also be doing a post on the 5 most annoying MEN in the office.)
Which are yours?

My Top 5 Haute Links of the Week:
1. suburbanturban.co.uk/ - If you've been reading my blog, you kow that my hair is having some 'issues'. I've been looking for some really cute and chic hair coverings, and the people here were so nice and so willing to help me find the perfect ones, even making suggestions, that I have to give a call out to them. To me, customer service counts for alot and the fact that they reached out in such a lovely manner really made my day. 2. melissafoster.com - An award-winning published author, she shares her love of books and writing with us. I met her on Twitter and, with over 40,000 followers, she took the time to answer my post and encourage my literary aspirations. Also, her site is a wealth of information on everything books and writing. I could spend hours on that site! 3. bebold.org.uk/Alopecia - This is an alopecia blog and just happens to have written the best post I've seen on What is Happiness and How to Achieve it. This magazine is truly great. Gorgeous clothes, beautiful plus-size models and great writing. I really love reading it and I bet you will too! So... those are my Top 5 this week. I hope you enjoy as much as I do! **As usual, I receive no compensation in any form for mentioning these sites. They truly are some of my favorites.
My Alopecia seems to be coming back worse than ever!
Note to self: If you have alopecia, never take a picture of yourself with a skylight above you.
I first wrote about my alopecia HERE. As I'm writing this, I am unconsciously running my hands through my hair and am, once again, seeing more hair very easily coming out. It's funny how, when that happens, you almost can't keep your hands out of your hair, thus bringing on even more hair loss. Wicked circle I'm in here. I've gotta tell you: Fat AND bald is NOT a good combination. At least one of these need to be resolved. Yes...I've tried just about everything out there on the market. Yes..I've been to tons of doctors. No...I do not want to wear a wig. I think at this point, I would rather go with a great headcovering, such is found at a place called Suburban Turban (in the u.k.). They understand the particular needs we (alopecians) face. Their styles are great and I would wear their hats and turbans even if I didn't have hair loss. Another great place is headcovers.com, which have just tons of great looks. I've talked about them before. So, I may just go with something like that for the summer. I'm not a baseball cap wearing kind of gal. I just do not want to be at that point where a wig is needed (although I know I am at that point) because it's so hot here where I live and, also, they just seem really uncomfortable, unless I get the custom sized ones that cost thousands and I did something like that before and it was a disaster. I'm afraid that some well-placed extensions are not going to do the trick anymore. I have come to peace with my hair and now, basically, am just waiting to see what it's going to do.
I am not putting any more money into the snake oil treatments that I've purchased that just made my wallet lighter. Volumizers and thickening shampoos are no longer working. I may have to go shorter than my beloved Michelle Obama hairdo, which I had just gotten a few weeks ago. I think I need as little weight on my scalp as possible. As I read this over, I fear that I may be coming across as rather flippant or cavalier as to women losing their hair. Believe me, I'm not. It's extremely mentally traumatizing. I was traumatized. Alot. I got over it and it took some good time. I have only reached this point over several years. Now I know that there's too much else in the world for me to look to than my hair. I will, however, continue to find something to make me look better than I do now. If any of you suffering with this has any experience with this and what has worked for you, I'd love to hear about it. (Please don't use this to spam me with whatever crap you're hawking to make a buck.)
In the meantime, on a happier note, I got this great sunhat for $13.99 at the local drugstore. I think it's really cute. Additional Resources:

It is difficult, but not impossible, to find beautiful, great fitting clothing, for the Plus-Size Tall Woman. Queen Latifah Kevin Winter/Getty Images A Few Fashion Tips:
1. Stay away from tent-like or billowing styles, as these will just make you look bigger. 2. Choose styles that accentuate your waist. 3. Wear only one oversized item at a time, for example, a large jacket over skinny denim. 4. Make your accessories oversized. Have a great, stylish handbag or a huge, bright bangle on your wrist. Thick belts, at least 1 1/2" wide, also, are wonderful. Just don't overdo it. One or two items at the most. 5. Accentuate your neck with dangling statement earrings. You can also carry off the large, bold statement necklaces better than anyone. Don't go for too small, dainty jewelry.

Once again, an act of terror brings home the message of what is important. I really could not write about fashion or humor or Vogue covers without acknowledging the fact that another coward has decided to kill and maim innocent people doing one of the most "All-American" events of all: A Marathon.
On Monday, April 15, 2013, thousands of men, women and children lined up to run the Boston Marathon.
So, who won the Boston Marathon? I have no idea and I bet you don't either. Their victory has been eclipsed by horror. Someone set off two explosions, severing body parts and pelting people with shrapnel.
As of this writing, there are 3 people dead and more than 170 wounded.
I know that we can't just focus on the bad; that we must live our lives; that we cannot live in fear; yet, after this, we are all taken aback and reminded what is truly important.
Yet, amongst this tragedy were more heroes than can be counted: The people who ran to help the victims without concern to their own safety, restaurants offered free food, people lined up to donate blood and the people of Boston opened their homes to those who needed somewhere to go.
So, to the victims of this terrorist event, the people of Boston and the thousands of people who came from all over the world to run the Boston Marathon, our thoughts and prayers are with you and good always prevails over evil.
Some of the favorite things I've read this week I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I have!
