HELP FOR MY HORRIBLE HAIR
If you're fairly new to this site, then you probably are unaware that I have THE WORST HAIR - It's thin, fine, fly-away hair. You would think that since my hair is the bane of my existence, that I would spend the most of my get-ready time on my hair. Well, you'd be wrong. I stick it up in a pony or bun and go on my way.
I've had pretty much all the tests for conditions that would cause thin hair, including checking my hormones and thyroid levels and the only thing I found out, really, was that I did have a form a alopecia and, also, that I was allergic to Propylene Glycol, which is contained in alot of shampoos, conditioners and styling products. I now read all the ingredients on something before i buy it.
In all honesty, when I go out for the evening or someplace special, I do rely on extensions. I've had extremely expensive hair systems which looked fake and really were too heavy. About 6 years ago, I bought Raquel Welch human hair extensions that work extremely well. I have washed them and worn them so many times and they just never wear out.
However, for everyday, this is the company I've found is the best for my hair: DHCCARE.COM.

My favorite item from DHC is their Scalp Cleansing Shampoo.

Get to the root. Do more than just wash your hair. Promote a healthier scalp and help prevent dull, lifeless locks by removing impurities, including styling product buildup and excess sebum
with this deep cleansing shampoo. Combats excess oil with an extract of algae.
Refreshing citrus scent.
Here are the ingredients: water/aqua/eau, sodium laureth sulfate, alcohol, lauramidopropyl betaine, cocamide MEA, decyl glucoside, glycol distearate, fragrance/parfum, dimethicone,
sodium benzoate, phenoxyethanol, polyquaternium-10, lauric acid, etidronic acid,
polyquaternium-7, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, algae extract, citric acid,
sodium hydroxide, limonene, linalool, hexyl cinnamal, butylphenyl
methylpropional, benzyl benzoate
It just has a really clean smell to it and doesn't seem to make a difference in how long the dye in my hair lasts.
For my particular hair, I find the best results when I shampoo, rinse and repeat, even though with most shampoos I've used, I never shampoo more than once. For some reason, that second shampoo really gives my hair much more volume.
There is also a conditioner that I like with this and I use it only on my ends:
